The Looming Crisis

The broader implications of the high turnover rate and low wages in this sector are deeply concerning. The Skills for Care Report estimated that there is currently one adult social care post for every person aged over 65 and projected that the 90 and over age group is expected to almost double between now and 2040. Considering the current shortage of care staff, drastic measures are needed to avoid a future social care crisis of catastrophic proportions with devastating consequences for the NHS.
